Cesare Tacchi. Una retrospettiva at Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Rome, February 7 – May 6, 2018

Cesare Tacchi. Una retrospettiva is a monographic exhibition, an exercise of attention, study and enhancement, which traces, through the events in the artist’s life, the intellectual tensions of over half a century. The exhibition narrative focuses on the works of Cesare Tacchi (1940–2014) to whom the city of Rome is paying tribute a little over three years after his death. Portrayed by critics in 1959 as ‘a silent and chaste young solitary man’, Tacchi did not change his temperament over the years. Perhaps it was this that allowed him to eliminate the inconsistencies that abounded in contemporary visual culture, and to undertake, without proclamations, new and undefeated directions. Over one hundred works displayed in chronological order will reconstruct his entire artistic career.” — Palazzo delle Esposizioni
